The Valley Temple Religious School
Sunday November 18, 2007
Notes:
Today is a unique day. The second, third and fourth grades will be at Wise Temple attending a concert and the fifth and sixth grades will be coming back from the GUCI retreat. I will be at GUCI, but returning home Saturday evening for religious school; however I am going to the concert at Wise; Jan Sass will be here to assist as needed. Please keep this in mind as you finish your planning. I will be reachable by phone (807-7459) for emergencies, but please do not email.
You’ll see that Rabbi Ron Klotz is coming on 12/7 to talk about GUCI. We will have our Chanukah Assembly after.
Thank you for all your help and support in coloring the quilt squares for Project Linus. They are most appreciative! The students seemed to not only have a good time, but understood the mitzvah they were performing.

First Grade Families--send in your family pictures by December 2nd
Dear First Grade families,
This school year has been extremely busy! We have talked about many different Mitzvot and various aspects of being Jewish. One aspect is family.
With that being said, next time we meet, December 2, 2007, we will be making family scrapbooks. We need you to send your child with four FAMILY pictures. At least ONE picture must be of the immediate family (mom, dad, brothers, sisters, etc.). Any other pictures may include any extended family (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.). You may send more than four pictures. However, please keep the limit at 8.
Please send these in on December 2. We would like to finish them by the 9th so your child can give the scrapbook as a Hanukkah present.
Thank you very much for your support.
Sincerely,
Joanna, First Grade Teacher

Project Linus Blankets This Sunday
On Sunday November 18th, our school will be coloring quilt squares for Project Linus blankets. These decorative squares are of children, and our children will color them for those in need. Project Linus is providing the squares and we'll use our fabric markers. If you would like to make a donation, please bring one or more pieces of blue, green, yellow, purple or red polyester or cotton material to school on or before November 18th (the material can be either solid or print). We'll then give Project Linus the decorated quilt squares and the material for the blankets and their volunteers will complete them.
Thank you for your support of this worthwhile project!
